Weslys Birth story

It all started the morning of July 15th 2013. I was told to call in at the hospital at 7:00am and to not eat anything the night before, ready to be induced. I could''t sleep that night I felt like a kid at christmas so excited to meet this little kicking moving baby that has been in my big belly for the past 9 months. I got up at 6:30 got ready and called the hospital. They said "i'm sorry we had some emergencies through the night and a lot of deliveries so call back at 9:00. I thought aghh I want to come now i was so impatient. I rested on the couch waiting and called back at 9:00 they said this time " were not quite ready for you so will call you around 12:00 go ahead and eat a light breakfast". Again so hard to wait I ate a muffin and decided to get a snow cone with sadie who by the way came at 7:00 to watch the boys. We went for a drive to get our snow cones and walk around the grocery store. We came home to have the nurse call back at 12:00 and say "we're ready for you come on down" I almost screamed for excitement in the phone. I told Ike lets go right now before they call back and say don't come. I grabbed the bag kissed my little boys. We got there and checked in, the nurse handed me a gown and before I even got it on she came back in and said "Dr twede is here and would like to break your water but  first we need  to get your iv started. I hurried and put the gown on and she stared the iv full force also putting a bag of pitosin on and said she was going to bump it high. Dr Twede came in broke my water and said "lets have this baby by 6:00 it was 1:30 I was like "um yeah that sounds great surprised it would be that fast. Then we waited. The contractions started small but progressively got stronger, fast the meds were working.  I was so nervous this time about giving birth even though I have done it twice before this seemed almost new to me my heart was racing and I was thinking of what happens right when I was freaking out a little I heard the lady in the next room grunting and then screaming Ike and I looked at each other he was laughing and I was almost in tears from being afraid. I asked Ike "Do I make those horrible noises?" he chuckled and said no you just breathe heavy. I asked Ike to give me a blessing after I felt comforted.
My contractions were off the charts and a lot more painful The nurse came in and asked if I was ok turning down the piton a little then asked if I heard the lady next to us she said she went natural I thought "man I am glad I am getting an epidural!" I asked for it right away. The anesthesiologist came in I told ike the only way I would let anyone poke my back was if they had at least 20 years experience Ike told him that and he said well your in luck I have 27 years experience so I was like ok lets get this done with. He rolled me to my side and made me hunch my back not easy when you have a giant belly very uncomfortable. Ike was holding my hand and I was squeezing really hard as he was numbing me with the shots (by the way the numbing hurt i didn't even feel the giant epidural needle) I hear  Ike say I don't feel so good the nurse grabbed him and sat him down asking him if he wanted any juice or crackers it was a great distraction for me wondering what the heck was wrong with Ike. After they were done they turned me I looked at ike and had never seen that color of green on anyone before. He sat there and said "I don't know what happened I"m not freaked out by needles I think it was the smell of the alcohol" finally he felt better I was a little afraid of delivering if he would do the same thing. He has never done that before by the way just something about this time.  By this time I was feeling much better but something was weird I could move my legs I have never experienced that with the other two I was completely numb unable to move with my others. I didn't feel pain but could move it was awesome.
My best friend liz who lives in oregon had come all the way down to utah to take pictures at this birth. We have been friends since we were two and really have been inseparable since. Her family is like my own. I know we knew each other in heaven she has been there for me through everything what an amazing experience to have her there at weslys birth. I might add that her dad has been my ob with all my kids and was delivering wesly as well. I trust him with my life again amazing experience so blessed to have such a great relationship like that. We called her and said come on down. She got there we talked awhile and laughed. My contractions were getting harder and harder the dr twede came in checked me I was at a 6 dialted around 5:30 so he left for a meeting. Around 5:45 I felt like pushing Liz texted her dad and said she seriously feels like pushing come back!! they checked me sure enough I was at a 9 and Dr. tweed was back on his way wesley must be very obedient because he heard he was supposed to arrive at 6:00 :) The Dr. was there and I was ready to push. I had pushed the button on my epidural to not feel more pain so when I was ready to push it was a little hard because I could feel it as much but three contractions later he was out.
The first thing I heard was that the cord was long and wrapped around his neck three times. He didn't cry right away until they laid him on me. Oh my gosh the feeling you get when they put that little angel on your once big belly now deflated is the most amazing feeling. I looked at him and thought I know you! Instant love and warmth that feels your body your heart beating faster with excitement he's here his little crys so much emotion its hard to cry yourself my body shaking. I held him as they rubbed his little body talking to him as he calmed down as he looked at me. This miracle straight from heaven sweet precious baby boy your apart of our family!!! They took him away to check him out while daddy watched and talked to him proud as can be. 8 pounds 10 ounces 21 inches no problems, he was perfect!
Our perfect baby boy was finally here healthy strong and beautiful. I nursed him right way as I did Ike had the boys on face time so they could see him. They were on their way to see their baby brother he arrived at 6:38. The boys arrived shortly, grinning with excitement sevrin wanted to sit on the bed with me and hold and look at him. Ollie on the other hand was a little nervous of the hospital and mom having an iv in her arm stood from a distance and watched with daddy and sadie. Our little family has grown 3 happy healthy boys and two happy proud parents. Wesley stayed awake for three hours straight after he was born wide eyed watching everything around checking out his new world and family. after everyone left they rolled me to my new room down the hallway playing lullaby music. I had the best experience with this birth and hospital.
